MyEnergi Zappi EV Charger Installation with Solar & Battery Integration Bradford on Avon

Protest Electrical completed the installation of two MyEnergi Zappi 7kW EV chargers, integrating them with the customer’s existing solar PV, MyEnergi Eddi diverters and Tesla Powerwall battery system.

Smart EV Charging with Solar Power

The two Zappi EV chargers were connected to the existing MyEnergi system, allowing the customer’s EV charging, solar generation and energy usage to work together as part of one smart energy system.

A MyEnergi Harvi wireless energy sensor was also installed to monitor energy flow between the property, electricity grid, solar PV system and existing Tesla Powerwall.

Make Better Use of Solar Energy

One of the main benefits of installing a Zappi EV charger alongside solar panels is the ability to make better use of electricity generated at the property.

Rather than exporting excess solar energy back to the grid, the Zappi can be configured to use available surplus solar generation to charge an electric vehicle.

For homeowners with solar PV and battery storage, integrating an EV charger into the wider energy system can help maximise the amount of self-generated electricity used within the property.

Smart Monitoring with the MyEnergi App

The customer can monitor and control the MyEnergi system directly from their smartphone using the MyEnergi app, providing an easy way to view energy usage and manage EV charging.

Following completion, the customer was extremely pleased with the integrated system and the ability to make greater use of their existing solar PV generation.
